Blue Canal Red Roof by artist Jim Rode at Friday Night Art
Blue Canal, Red Roof
Where FridayNightArt at Harlingen in the Rio Grand Valley of Texas.
The Art
Tumbling drunk above the Rio Grand Valley, calculating the life lost while passing time in neutral. Details are fuzzy and the water dreamy. You truly can never go home again. Yet your history is not past, its not even over. Above the wind turbines, your future is the sky, or the earth below where you hope someone will visit your stone monument.
Look and Size of the Art
This is a 20x30 ink fusion to a sheet of aluminum.
How
The aluminum is buffed and a coat of white is applied. Ink is drawn to a sheet of mylar and laid to the aluminum. It is baked at 400º to fuse to the metal. A box hanger adheres to the back for easy wall display. $770
Also: A signed version by JimRode is inked to watercolor paper and available at $129. The fuzzy details are gorgeous on watercolor paper. The edges are hand torn for a cool fine art look.
