Sometimes we avoid tourist areas when it comes time to grab lunch. Sometimes we expect to be disappointed with a higher cost or perhaps we expect the menu to be lacking when it comes to places likely to have a crowd whether they deserve it or not. Happily, this i-hop in the trendy Bricktown/Deep Duece area of Oklahoma City is a good place to eat for that American comfort food.
I visited on a Tuesday at lunch and was impressed with the tilapia lunch. I had a new waitress who didn't realize that the salad with the lunch entree was a $1.29 add on. The ticket stated Ranch 1.29 which made me think I was being charged for the dressing. But, it was the salad and a quirk of the ticket machine. She apologized and removed the charge from the ticket.
The salad was good except for the wetness (see photo) but I can live with that.
The tilapia was excellent!. It was a generous portion serve on spinach. My two side choices were spinach (I know...popeyes favorite) and mash red potatoes. The spinach was great! The potatoes were average. For lunch in touristy Bricktown, I think I did alright at ten bucks!
