There is a old Ford assembly plant in Oklahoma City that has been rebuilt on the inside into the 21c Hotel. It is a high quality hotel and stands at 900 W Main St in Oklahoma City. This hotel is among a growing chain of high quality Hotel/Museums that have multiple locations in the United States.
Mary Eddy's Kitchen and Lounge is a great restaurant at the 21c Hotel. Getting chef-style dishes is a real plus when you get tired of the standard burger and fry type of diners. I'll be talking about lunch, although I can't wait to get back for breakfast. Oklahoma City has been a huge disappointment in breakfast for me. Toast is something OKC seems to think is adequate as something flipped on a grill. Toaster? What the hell is that?
Anyway, back to my lunch at Mary Eddy's. I visited on my own and had the -
Pastrami on Rye. It is made with cabbage slaw, swiss, mustard aioli and pickles. 13 It comes with a side and I chose a green salad. No blue cheese?! The chef made some for me! I like that! The sandwich was great. I decided to bring Sylvia the next week and do it again!
My second trip was very different. I got the -
Tin Lizzy Burger 16 and added an egg 3 (funny, adding bacon is 2 bucks yet a cheaper egg costs 3 bucks). The burger has aged cheddar, lemon aioli, onion and mustard greens. It was great! My side was corn chowder and it was first class! In the photo, you'll see pickles rather than the chowder which I asked to be brought prior to the entre. Sylvia was unhappy with the amount of fat on her first half of the Pastrami. So we traded and she too loved the Tin Lizzy half she ate.
My shot at the Pastrami on Rye she had ordered was a wowser. It was mostly fat. It must have been sliced without looking. I realized a pastrami might have a little fat for flavor, but this is a fail. Because my first try the week before was so good, I recommend you look it over and not be afraid to send it back. I did not.
I love that you can finish a meal at Mary Eddy's before walking through the art Museum at the 21C hotel. A real bonus.
All in all, try it! Mary Eddy's is a good choice!
