On an early Saturday morning in Midtown of Oklahoma City, you might wait a few minutes before you see any traffic. Streetcars on route, must wait a few minutes at the Dewey Ave Station to see if anyone shows up. It continues its route regardless.
This streetcar portrait began with a photograph. Later, Jim created the image in inks on mylar before burning the plastic to a buffed sheet of aluminum. The muted colors accented the morning sky. Telephone lines that follow the street cut through the colors of blue adding a color echo.
Jim created a 20x30 on metal with a metal hanger box on the back to allow easy wall display. A less expensive version is contemplated on museum canvas on a stretcher wood frame as a gallery wrap as a frame may distract from the mood of the image.
