The Art

On the Port Isabel side of the causeway from South Padre Island, stands an inlet where shrimp boats can dock. Fish and shrimp can be unloaded and trucked to restaurants.  Fishermen can take a break from long days at sea. After sleep and grub, they repair tears in the nets before their next fishing departure. 

Port Isabel is on the land side of South Padre Island. It is cheaper to stay, play and eat here than the time you spend across the causeway at the tourist traps on the island. But, then again...we all have our own tastes.
