St. Elijah OKC in an ink on metal by Jim Rode at Friday Night Art. St. Elijah is an Antiochian Orthodox Christian church in Oklahoma City at 15000 N May Ave.
One of the most interesting features of St. Elijah (building acquired in 1935) is the "miracle of the bells" recounted twice in the Oklahoman Newspaper. Neighbors would be awakened at night by church bell. They asked that the church refrain from using it so late at night. The church however, had no bell. They even provided tours of the building to prove they did not have one. It is thought that St. Elijah was tolling the church, encouraging the parishioners to build a bell tower. Money was raised and the demand fulfilled.
