The Art
I am most proud of this ink on canvas. It is deceptively beautiful. It is remarkably simple.
It is the earth, sun, sky and cotton plants from which we cloth ourselves. At the bottom, the rich earth, rutted by farm machinery. Man. The green cotton field will "feed" man the clothing he has worn for 5,000 years dating back to Egypt. Connecting the cotton to the sky are man's telephone wires, strung off into the distant horizon.
The sky is God. We don't understand the power, we just accept it in faith. The sun feeds the earth and it is suspended in outer space in the unfathomable blue sky of the universe.
Like a Rothko, I could stare into it for a long time...always seeing something new.
Art Details
This is a 20x30 ink on canvas. It is attached to a hardwood frame with a wire hanger so it is ready to display on the wall. JimRode uses real wood...a hardwood frame for longevity. The canvas is attached to the wood frame, wrapping the edge. Archival ink of course, and premium canvas with a poly/linen blend for longevity. The inks soak the canvas fiber creating a depth of color.
