The Art
This hauntingly beautiful art, ink infused metal, is an O'Keeffe-like study of nature. This deer horn skull hangs in a fence line surrounded by growing cactus.
Contrasts in life plays out as the plant bears fruit to feed and regenerate future cactus while the fate of nature has ended the life of the young deer.
Life can be good. Life can be cruel.
For a closer look at cactus, Jim Rode captured a cactus beauty in San Antonio.
Art Details
10x10 ink infused aluminum with a rear frame strung by d-rings and wire, ready to hang.
This art is created with an ink-emulsion process and baked to a sheet of buffed aluminum at approximately 400º to infuse the art to the metal. The process should last 100 years or more although testing is not sufficient to estimate it's actual lifespan. With care to not display in sunlight, there is little reason to believe it will not last indefinitely.
