El Cortez Starry Night, an Ink Fusion by JimRode

The Art
El Cortez Starry Night is one of my studies that captivates me. I returned to it often like Monet and his water lilies.
The hotel was once the tallest building in San Diego. It was built in 1927. You could live there at $100 per month (stiff at the time!), or rent a hotel room at $5 a day. During World War 2, the 12 floor had a radar station to warn the city of incoming air attack. In 1956, El Cortez housed the first glass elevator. Today it houses 85 condos...but considerably more than the $100 a month in rent a hundred years ago.
Art Details
There is an ink on canvas version and an ink fusion on metal version. Both are great. The canvas looks more "museum like" with subtle tones and colors. The ink fusion work really 'pops' the colors because I burn in an underlay of white which makes the colors glow. Not a lot of 'glow', just a subtle amount that you wouldn't notice unless I told you.
Both come ready for the wall display. The metal comes with a wall hanger box (not heavy) adhered to the rear for easy hanging.
The ink fusion is the link to acquire. For a canvas purchase at $100 less, contact JimRode directly.
