Oklahoma Cries on the Canadian River - Ink on canvas art from Jim Rode
Where
fridaynightart in Oklahoma City (at the Canadian River)
The Art
Life can be described as blue and gold. Life is simple like that. Tears or rich, luck of life, blue and gold and all the peopled details are fuzzy.
It would be simpler to splash some color on canvas without detail, only depth like a Rothko, but that leaves out the discomfort of despair. The city has people camping out under canvas and plastic within the four corners of property with fences that nobody mends. Within the overgrown thickets of cyclone fence-brush that lawnmowers once kept clean.
Like a man with fuzzy chin stubble, abandoned property hides tiny communities of the forgotten. Morning coffee just ain't happening.
In this ink on canvas we step back a few thousand feet and look down as sad angels would. Tears fall near the Canadian River in Oklahoma.
Step back 6 feet to admire the color. Sometimes God doesn't peer too close for details...
