Stopping for a break in the National Gallery of Art, we ate at the Cascade Cafe on the ground floor of the East Wing. I ordered the ham and brie half sandwich with lentil soup. It is served cafeteria style, but don't let that fool you. It's good food.
I suspect that museum restaurants don't try to make money. The work to give good food at a reasonable price to make sure patrons and guests feel good and see the value in America's art galleries.
Although not elegantly served, the food is an A+. Elegant might be reserved for the other restaurants in the Gallery, this one is located along the route between gallery buildings. Don't be afraid to try it!
