I tried the Roasted Chicken at Edgar's. Best I ever had! I'm amazed at the taste. I believe it was a $27 dish...but it was worth it! It also was adorned with watermelon radish...yep, I never encounter it before but was very pleased at the taste!
Lunch saw a Maryland Crab Cake on a brioche bun. Wow...I think I could eat it every week for a year.
Edgar is a fabulous restaurant inside the Mayflower Hotel near the Dupont Circle in DC. J Edgar Hoover had the same lunch every day: chicken soup followed by a salad of iceberg lettuce, grapefruit, and cottage cheese.
Luckily, we don't have to be fixed to the same order. Their menu has variety and the food is well prepared and elegantly served.
I recommend it for the power lunch when in DC.
