The Art
Sometimes you just want to get away...even if you are lounging in your favorite room...
My favorite - "getting lost in the picture" - ink fusion...
This part of the Rio Grande Valley goes from grassland to crops and back again. The revenue from the power company for the wind turbines have made a difference in the decision making.
In this image the inks reveal the detail of life on our good earth. The gritty detail of our dirt and grasses brings the green and yellow. The horizon of sunrise provides the yellow and green (opposite blends). and the sky is a blend of blues in a circular display mimicking the rotation of our planet through the system. But if you ignore the details, you can stare at it like a Rothko.
Art Details
Archival inks are applied to a mylar before layered onto a buffed sheet of aluminum. The artist's rendition is then burned at 400º to fuse the image to the aluminum. A wall hanger is attached to the rear so that the piece can be displayed in the office or home collection quickly. Jim Rode will sign the work unless you request the signature on the back of the aluminum.
